High West Whiskey

The story of High West Distillery began in 2006 when the then biochemist David Perkins and his wife, Jane, started a new career path and decided to relocate their family to Park City, Utah, and begin a new adventure of whiskey distilling. Together they soon founded the first legal distillery in Utah since 1870. The small-scale production started in an old western stable in the Wasatch mountain range east of Salt Lake City. Today, the stable works as High West Distillery's own saloon as the whiskey is now produced 20 kilometers north of the city, in the mountain wilderness.

High West Distillery builds on Utah's old whiskey tradition with more than seventy distilleries in the state before the ban. Today, High West Distillery don't only protect the heritage of the Wild West, they stand for innovation with modern blends of bourbon and rye and produce the fastest growing whiskey in the higher price segment in the United States.

Among the distillery's prizes and awards are “Distillery of the Year 2016” by Whiskey Advocate, the country's leading whiskey magazine.

The first whiskey to launch in Sweden is the American Prairie Bourbon, a complex blend of straight bourbon on corn, rye and barley malt meant to showcase that rich and earthy aromatic spice you get from very high quality bourbons. With tones of honey nougat, candy corns and sweet corn bread biscuits meld together on the palate and combine with the higher content of rye and mash to showcase a slight spice in the finish.

High West Wiskey American Praire Bourbon is now available in Systembolaget's order assortment.
